ich bin zufällig über dieses Projekt gestossen. Z.Z. benutze ich den Client eMule 0.50a mit dem bin ich auch sehr zufrieden. Da gerne etwas neues ausprobiere würde ich gerne eure Beta testen, mir ist noch nicht ganz klar welche vorzügige eure Version bietet, ist es eine Weiterentwicklung des Original Clients? Wie soll das ohne die Server funktionieren?

Wenn wir uns über einen Namen einig sind werden wir das Ding wohl zunächst mal releasen
Es soll ein Form von eMule sein, d.h. nicht nur eine Modifikation sondern eine schon größere Abwandlung - was allein durch den Wegfall der Server schon gegeben ist - und es selbst dem größten DAU ermöglichen Dateien via P2P zu finden, herunterzuladen und natürlich zu tauschen. Dafür fallen eben viele unnötige und/oder unsinnige Einstellungsmöglichkeiten weg, andere werden automatisiert und neue Features werden zugefügt.

Auch der Originalclient funktioniert seit vielen Jahren supi ohne jeden Server. Die meisten Nutzer verwenden überwiegend Kademlia und verzichten längst auf die Nutzung von ed2k-Servern, zumal diese sich oft ändern. (Zugegeben: Das tun Kad-Nodes auch, aber davon merkt man nichts.)

Ich versuche jetzt noch ein paar Varianten loszuwerden:

I have uploaded one (final?) update of our kMule client.
The only real "change" is the name but I've updated all libs and compiled it with V$ 2010 this time - so please check for any regressions

Please note that the .exe is named "kMule.exe" and thus the autoupdate won't find it - you have to manually extract it after download.

Ich habe noch ein (letztes?) Update unseres kMule Clients hochgeladen.
Eigentlich wurde nur der Name geändert aber ich habe auch alle Libs aktualisiert und mit V$ 2010 kompiliert - also schaut bitte ob noch alles funktioniert

Da die .exe jetzt "kMule.exe" heißt wird sie vom Autoupdate nicht gefunden und entpackt, das müsst ihr also nach dem Download selbst erledigen.

so ... little guide here for lessening the inconveniences for less experienced ones...

after you click on Yes to close ed2k Loader to finish your update and ed2k Loader get's closed,
before starting the kMule.exe for the first time :
*open the preferences.ini and change the first line
[ed2k Loader] to [kMule]
*rename ed2kPrefs.ini to kMule.ini
*open the (newly renamed) kMule.ini and change the first line
[ed2k Loader] to [kMule]

will spare you setting the options again

Now to the kMule client ... running well

I have found a tiny error in a log line:
